I've decided to just do Gyen/Mel as well, just because it's not fun if I do this with some other fandom, and then nobody understands
1. Who is the most affectionate?
They're not really affectionate. More like they just do things for the other. Mel's at least more open/talkative about asking and offering help. Gyendal just... does things without saying anything or being asked.
2. Big spoon/Little spoon?
Gyendal, hahahahahhaaa. He grabs Mel, and she just begrudgingly lets him hold her.
3. Most common argument?
Everything and nothing. They would flail and yell, someone would sulk (usually Mel), and then in the morning everything is back to normal.
4. Favorite non-sexual activity?
Practicing magic together. And half of the time it ends up with Mel running out of Mana and just tackling Gyendal and (try to) beat him up with the staff or something
5. Who is most likely to carry the other?
I don't think Mel can actually carry Gyendal at all ahahahaha... since he's taller than her, it's really awkward.
6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?
For Mel, Gyendal's voice. For Gyendal, Mel's eyes. If this is about personality, I don't think they have any? Since them coming together is a long and slow process of denials and all sorts of hijinks, so nothing personality-wise stands out.
7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
They're both so dense it would take a while to realize it in the first place, haha. Then it becomes denial. 99% of the debate would be against themselves, since in my headcanon they don't really start working things out until post-quest. And after everything is sorted out, it's just a matter of getting over the bad aftertaste from the quest (on Mel's side, mostly).
8. Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?
Oh man, I don't remember the game much anymore, I need to go back and play. I'm not one for nicknames, so for the longest time I just have them call each other by name.
9. Who worries the most?
Gyendal. Being the calculating type, he doesn't like being not in control of the situation. And, well, Mel can be unpredictable sometimes.
10. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?
Gyendal, because he's always observant of things. And I think Mel would actually sometimes find herself surprised at seeing him eat at all.
Does it matter? :/
12. Who initiates kisses?
Both. Though... I think for the first one it's Mel. I just have this headcanon that vampires don't touch each other like normal humans would, so for Gyendal a kiss wouldn't be a familiar gesture.
13. Who reaches for the other’s hand first?
Is it weird that I can't really imagine them holding hands? Except maybe if one of them is about to fall off a cliff or something, and needs a hand.
14. Who kisses the hardest?
Mel, because Gyendal can't get a hang of human-y things for a good long while and leaves Mel really frustrated.
15. Who wakes up first?
Gyendal. He's a hard-worker LOL.
16. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?
Mel. I don't think she actually wakes up unless someone wakes her
17. Who says I love you first?
... I think it would be Gyen, although it would be more in a "is this what people call love?" kind of way.
18. Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?)
Too Disney, LOL. Neither.
19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?
Nobody did. All out of a sudden everyone just gets a wedding invitation, to much shock/horror/glee (pick one).
20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship?
Oh man, it's hard to say canonically, because my headcanon operates entirely under the AU situation, with daevas and such. I mean, I've made sure to tailor everything to work out just fine without changing the quest, only the ending, but still...
The "official" ending I have in mind is that after Gyendal gets sent over to Demon Realm, he gets caught by the dimension guards who've been noticing weird activity in the gateway between realms. And after much paperwork, interrogation, and a lot of annoying back and forth with the two Oracles... The daevas are allowed to officially send their agents to the human world to reconcile the two dimensions, and to crack down on any weird notions of abusing power. And Gyendal gets to be one of the human realm contacts because he's been around for a while.
Edward and the rest of the group would be disgruntled/disbelieving, but with the daevas and their minions running around for a while, they don't really mind. And Te'ijal is just snarkily like "Couldn't you have done this WITHOUT the taking over the world part? That's not nice".
21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?
Neither In my headcanon, Gyendal and Tei'jal's family is a wizard-warrior type who don't do dances (except swordsinger-esque sword dance-manoeuver I guess).
22. Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?
Mel, although all she does is make roast stuff. Gyendal is still adjusting to human food (especially if the AU baggage is involved... there's no need for food in Demon Realm).
23. Who comes up with cheesy pick-up lines?
Gyendal, just to annoy Mel. He picked those up from romance novels/love guides when he was trying to figure out human courtships to be Spook.
24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?
Gyendal, again, LOLOLOL. For the same reason as above.
25. Who needs more assurance?
Both do, in a way... I imagine it wouldn't be easy for Gyendal to reassimilate into human life, even with the ease-up I arranged in the AU situation. And Mel have been living in a fight-or-flight situation throughout her life, so she'd need to learn to live a more stable life.
26. What would be their theme song?
I was actually working on a music video about them like 2-3 years ago? With this song, but... it just... scuttled...
27. Who would sing to their child back to sleep?
Neither of them sings. Mel just grumpily complains that the baby (Uma) won't sleep, while Gyendal just rambles on and on about theory of magic/government/vampire history/booky stuff that the baby (Nox) won't understand anyway.
28. What do they do when they’re away from each other?
Their work. Whatever it is. I dunno, I think Mel would end up being the store owner that sells adventurers their Aquafolium Extoras, weapons, all that stuff. And VERY snarkily makes comments on the places they go too ("oooh back in my days, the don't have those"). If Gyendal's free he would do the glowing soul projection thing to bother Mel (she needs a lot more work to be able to do that back to him haha). But in a non-AU context, I imagine his normal work is something like a magic scientist? Working on new magic spells, putting theories into writing... basically he makes magic textbooks... or at least create the theories/formulas, and have someone else dumb down his long-winded writings into something students can understand.
In the AU context he's some kinda magic police, and cracks down on people trying to take over the world. That's illegal and you can't do that
29. One headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart.
I dunno, hahah... I can't think of any sob headcanons.
30. One headcanon about this OTP that mends it.
Nothing? Oh, but if we're just talking favourite headcanons, I have this really messed up timetravel AU. Where human-Gyendal steps into the portal and gets sent back in time right into Mel and co's path. He doesn't have enough time to teleport away so he just disguises himself, and... gets dragged along to join the quest. Hijinks ensue. Especially when he has to find excuses to ditch out of the battles against himself. This is the only way I can visualize this pairing to happen without dragging in the AU baggage.
