The shogun's court

Eh, I work on this thing on and off. Your hero is the official in green robes talking to the shogun.

I think this is one of those instances that REALLY shows how awkward the semi-top-down perspective RPG Maker has, because those mats the retainers are sitting on looks really weird.

I don't particularly mind, though. This room is probably only gonna be visible in one cutscene. This IS the shogun's palace. You're not allowed to wander around as you please.

Samurai RTP, RMVX and Ace RTP, and a number of custom materials from Japanese forums and blogs. The platform the shogun is sitting on is made by editing the ledge of a bridge. 'Cause I like to be accurate and stuff.
