GyendalSpook Initial Design

I just realized that half of the stuff that I post in Amaranthia's Collegium didn't quite make it here. Now that Amanda's getting rid of the Collegium, well, I'm saving them. Including the original Artist comment I wrote there, because for the most part? I love them.

Here be my original, first ever sketch of Gyendal and Spook. Many things have changed since, but that's how art rolls.

Rejoice! D_A has finally crawled out of her anti-AV3 hole and finished playing all three chapters

*trumpets blow a fanfare, confetti rains down, people cheer*

Why does everyone who actually bothered drawing AV3 fanart always draw Mel? D_A hates Mel. Gyendal needs more love.

The only Gyendal fanart D_A found (was it by kirroha?) has straight hair like the pixels. D_A thinks it's fine, but since Te'ijal also have straight-haired pixels while her faceset shows otherwise, D_A thinks that it's rather dubious.

D_A thinks that Gyendal should not look at all like Spook. Thieves are very attentive and if Spook looks too much like Gyendal, Mel would have been suspicious, so D_A did not base Gyendal's face off Spook's faceset. Therefore, D_A decided to give Spook a slightly spiked hair to match his sister. Not very much, as to not make him look like a rock star/punk wannabe, and his long hair is in a braid instead of just a ponytail because plain ponytails are boring.

D_A had wanted to just draw Gyendal looking like Johnny Depp's Sweeney Todd because Te'ijal has a small section of white hair that is not present in her pixel. Supposing that Gyendal also have hair standing up and small section of white hair, D_A thinks he would look like Depp's Sweeney Todd, but decided against it because D_A does not like it.

D_A wonders why the "normal" Spook faceset in the game is the one the artist said to be the "sad" faceset. Miscommunication much?

Stupid unnamed clone... Why can't it be Derez or something? He's smarter.

Anyways, while most of the stuff up there is correct, that stupid clone forgot to mention that even though I want Spook to NOT look like Gyendal, I want them to have some slight resemblance just to remind you that they're the same person. Sort of a jab to all those magic girl manga/anime where in their "transformed" mode they still look exactly like their normal form but nobody noticed. So yeah, they DO still look very slightly similar, but very noticeably different.
