Dr Carlisle Cullen and Aro, during Carlisle’s stay in Volterra, having a conversation while talking a stroll in the countryside or something.

Or Aro is blathering how wonderful it is to eat people, and Carlisle is just, like, “Nope. Nice try, buddy, it ain’t working.”

This could be anyone at all, if you don’t like Twilight, but yeah. This is a Twilight fanart which is actually NICE even though I still don't like Twilight at all. Because I can.

Let it be known that I think poorly of Twilight. It’s lame at best, and downright horrifying, disastrous, and positively EVIL at worst. I know. I've read das_mervin's sporkings.

So why did I make this… considerably good (if totally messy) fanart, then? Not a mockery, not a parody, not trollage? Because fanfics. Context. Context. Context. So I stumbled across this very very bizarre fanfic that still makes me bang my head against the wall and scream “WHY?” over and over and over, but there’s this short scene of Carlisle and Aro being friends that impressed me so…eh, why not? The scene makes no sense canon-wise or logic-wise, but taken out of context, it’s a nice scene between friends that I kinda liked.

I guess this counts as guilty pleasure? Because I like the Volturi, and my vision of the characters have been verily tainted by the movies. Good lord, those movies make the characters way better than the books. Michael Sheen as Aro in a pimp suit is epically AWESOME and Peter Facinelli makes a very very sympathetic Carlisle that I enjoyed watching. It's like the way I would save up yaoi pictures just because the guys are hot or the art style is nice even though I don't like yaoi one bit.

Screw the time period, screw the appropriate clothing. I’m going to pretend Dr Cullen was around Volterra until the 1800s because there’s NO WAY I’m drawing those ridiculous froo-froo 17th century clothes they showed in the movie. This looks better on them. I took artistic liberties and not make them look either like the one from the official manga or the movie because I can. Also, Carlisle has glasses because glasses are cool. And a scarf because scarves are very British (according to Sherlock Holmes movie).

I am done rambling. I think I'd go draw Caius and Marcus too next time because movie!Volturi is AWESOME. They made the movies worth the time I wasted on 'em.

I agree with the froo froo fop clothes to Damn hard to draw. I bet if Aro could get away with it he'd still wear them

It's not because it's hard to draw. I can draw it if I wanted to. It's just that I hated those clothes. Aro looks better in black suit.
